A little while ago I happen to come across an Instagram post from an organisation called eXopse HOPE that cares for those working within the sex industry and victims of sex trafficking. The post described one of the brothels and it has and continues to, weigh heavily on my mind, heart and soul.
When faced with the enormity of modern-day slavery and the sex trafficking industry there doesn’t seem like we could much we could do. I was then reminded that you don’t always have to do massive gestures, help where you can. So, this week in our team meeting we packed up new panties, pads, carry bags and easter eggs and these will be distributed to the ladies through eXopse Hope. We put the following message on each bag “Remember that you are valuable, you are loved”. It is my hope that this simple message reminds these ladies and children that they are not alone in the shadows but worthy of freedom.
Why share this? Firstly, I thought it would be great to remind you that YOU are valuable and loved. Secondly, no matter how small go out and help where you can, even if it is just a smile at a stranger.
