I started Run Social just simply because I love running and want to share it. I was always encouraged to share my passions so this is what I do. I absolutely love to see women being active and pushing themselves further than they thought they could go.
Run Social is an informal relaxed group of ladies (but gents are also welcome) who meet every Wednesday morning at my shop, Sarah Elizabeth in the Sage Centre and we run 5kms. I have really enjoyed getting to know these women, from all different walks of life that I might never have met if we didn’t run together most Wednesday mornings. These are amazing women. On a daily basis, they juggle family, careers, husbands, the loss of husbands and life in general with love and dignity. Run Social is their time to carve a run out of a busy schedule. We rock up and we run, it is that simple.
Yes, my day job is to sell amazing bras but most importantly I have always maintained that it is what the bra does for a woman more than the item itself. The real magic happens when a woman feels confident to go out and DO what she wants. In the world of sport and running so many women don’t run because of the dreaded “bounce” factor. A good sports bra should easily sort this problem out and of course, we can help in this department. There are 100s of problems in the world but bouncing boobs while running should not be one of them!
As a Run Social group, we are now going to aim towards the Durban Ladies Spar Race in June (5 & 10km) and would like to invite you to join us. Have you ever wanted to run a 10km? Now is the time! Don’t miss this opportunity as we start a new training programme. Come and hear all about Run Social on Wednesday on 24 April at 07:45. No experience or fitness level needed just a big dose of determination and enthusiasm.
