The upcoming 2016 lingerie seasons have been launched and there are exciting colours, textures and patterns being showcased. For example Freya’s Strawberry Fields by Freya is a meadow print designed to capture the beauty of wild flowers. The fashion colour is aptly names Citrus. The Cami and Padded half cup really caught my eye.
The fun prints and designs just reinforce that (in some circumstances) letting your bra show through and become part of your outfit is on trend. As I type this, my mothers words from my adolescence ring out “Don’t let your bra strap show”. Sorry mum, I am going to ignore you as South African women now have so many great and colour bras to choose from.
I firmly believe you can find a great strapless bra ( I love my) and for some it is a really comfortable option. However, for a large majority of women they don’t offer the same amount of comfort as a normal bra. So why not as Charles Manning in the following Cosmo article suggests “Embrace your bra and make it part of your outfit”
I love the model in this article and some of their ideas. One of my favourite is the wearing a colourful bra under a sheer top. This is one of the staples in my wardrobe. Not only does it show off our great products, it also can be fun and slightly naughty. This advice does come with a health check: choose your bra to match your circumstance or the occasion. I don’t think having the fun Deco Lemon Zest Bra on display would be the best choice of outfit if interviewing at an investment bank. If however, you are out and about on Saturday, have some fun and embrace your bra, straps and all.
Here are some bold bar ideas:
